Abstract

Globally, the legal profession is being influenced by technological advancements. The rise of technology has undeniably transformed the legal field, reshaped traditional practices, and introduced innovative tools that enhance efficiency, accessibility, and accuracy. From automated processes to artificial intelligence-driven insights, the legal sector has harnessed technology to address challenges and seize opportunities in the modern era. The introduction of technology into the legal profession marked a significant shift in the landscape, especially with the adoption of computers, which changed how individual lawyers practiced. Undoubtedly, the impact of technology is more evident among lawyers in Nigeria today than ever before. Therefore, this paper focuses on the potential role of technology in lawyers’ work, particularly in Nigeria, and how it affects their professional tasks. The paper will also explore the challenges lawyers face with the influx of technological tools. The authors will recommend ways for lawyers to effectively utilize technology to improve their performance.
